No doubt that he will be the only pace-setter, but Hansen truly does belong in races from a mile to a 1 /16 miles. He showed that in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile and the Gotham Stakes. It’s Shackleford all over again.

Shackleford won the Preakness! It’s just a touch short of 10 furlongs, but still…that’s a pretty good longer distance win.

  1. rememberruffian said: I’m just saying that they put Shackleford way out of his comfort league. It’s obvious when he ran in the Kentucky Derby and anything longer than a mile, he’s obviously uncomfortable. Same with Hansen. He can stretch his speed to 8.5 furlongs.
